The opportunity:
Laing O'Rourke is a key construction partner on the Broacastle Substation project, a major infrastructure upgrade for National Grid
We are currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Bridgend, South Wales.
What will the role look like?
- Support the commercial management of allocated work packages and project areas.
- Assist with subcontract enquiries, quotation evaluations and procurement.
- Support subcontractor payments, applications for payment, valuations and final accounts.
- Assist with measurement, valuation and agreement of works, maintaining accurate commercial records.
- Support cost reporting, forecasting, cash flow and monitoring of project costs and expenditure.
- Assist with change control, claims and contractual matters.
- Attend commercial, financial and progress meetings with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
- Identify and report commercial risks and opportunities while developing your commercial knowledge and experience.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Knowledge of NEC contracts.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience in power or major infrastructure projects.
- Willingness to be involved in other activities to achieve company objectives.
- A drive to learn and grow to the next grade.
