The opportunity:

Laing O'Rourke is a key construction partner on the Broacastle Substation project, a major infrastructure upgrade for National Grid

We are currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Bridgend, South Wales.

What will the role look like?

Support the commercial management of allocated work packages and project areas.
Assist with subcontract enquiries, quotation evaluations and procurement.
Support subcontractor payments, applications for payment, valuations and final accounts.
Assist with measurement, valuation and agreement of works, maintaining accurate commercial records.
Support cost reporting, forecasting, cash flow and monitoring of project costs and expenditure.
Assist with change control, claims and contractual matters.
Attend commercial, financial and progress meetings with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
Identify and report commercial risks and opportunities while developing your commercial knowledge and experience.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

Knowledge of NEC contracts.
A degree in Quantity Surveying.
Experience in power or major infrastructure projects.
Willingness to be involved in other activities to achieve company objectives.
A drive to learn and grow to the next grade.
