Join Crown House Technologies Enterprise Solutons, Laing O'Rourke's specialist MEP and digital systems business as we help deliver next generation building services for landmark projects across science, healthcare, infrastructure, and defence sectors.

We are seeking a BMS Estimator to join our team, supporting bids and tenders with strategic estimating insight, technical knowledge, and innovative thinking. You'll be a key part of the team influencing smart building design from the ground up.

 

What is the role?

  • Preparing accurate cost estimates for Building Management Systems—from control panels to field devices and integration
  • Reviewing specifications, drawings, and documents to define BMS scope and compliance
  • Evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotes and contributing to commercial decisions
  • Supporting bid teams with risk, value engineering, and margin input
  • Collaborating with internal teams across engineering, planning, procurement, and design
  • Leading or supporting tender efforts across a wide portfolio of complex projects
  • Handing over clear, concise estimating documentation to the delivery team

 

What do we look for?

  • Experience estimating BMS systems within the construction or building services sector
  • Strong technical understanding of BMS infrastructure, control philosophies, and system architecture
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, independently and as part of a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • BPSS or SC clearance eligible

Desirable:

  • Experience with BMS controls (e.g. Schneider, Siemens, Tridium, etc.)
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g. BS EN 15232, CIBSE Guide H)
  • Background in design, commissioning, or engineering
  • Knowledge of procurement, cost planning and estimating tools 
  • Experience in healthcare, science, or secure government environments
