Diversity & Inclusion
We value difference at Laing O’Rourke and believe a diverse team drives innovation. We are a global multicultural business committed to the inclusion of all employees, enabling everyone to feel respected and valued for being themselves.
Laing O’Rourke is committed to ensuring that our people feel able to bring their whole selves to work.
We should feel we are going to a place where we are accepted, understood and valued. Just as importantly, we should go to work committed to making others feel the same way. Such a working environment does not happen by chance. It does not happen overnight. It happens starting with each of us – today – and it is simply the right thing to do.
Our D&I commitment:
From clear intent to driving impact throughout the Europe Hub.
- Build an organisation full of difference: different thinking, perspectives, experiences and people.
- Create workplaces where people can be themselves and feel respected.
- Set accountability for how we treat each other.
- Have leaders who act with care, integrity and courage.
- Govern ourselves and our supply chain.
Our Employee Network Groups:
Laing O'Rourke has an established group of D&I employee networks, offering a safe and supportive environment to listen and connect with the voices of our people.
Our D&I employee networks meet regularly and have the opportunity to make recommendations based on what members are discussing to the Diversity and Inclusion Council.
The D&I employee networks also help to drive education, events and initiatives across the organisation.
Diversity and Inclusion Council:
Our employee networks report into our diversity and inclusion council,
The Diversity and Inclusion Council make decisions on how to drive change and implement policies and recommendations that support colleagues across the Europe Hub. The Council meets bi-monthly and reports into the Europe Executive Committee and the Sustainability Advisory Board.
Our Employee Network Chairs meeting quarterly and directly feed into the Diversity and Inclusion Council meeting. Working together they will continue to grow awareness and ensure the action taken will have a positive impact on our people.
