
Work Experience
Our unpaid work experience placements offer a valuable insight into the world of work within a busy and exciting construction and engineering environment.
A work experience placement with Laing O’Rourke will typically last one or two weeks and is aimed at those who have an interest in civil engineering, construction, manufacturing as well as corporate services, such as, finance, human capital, corporate affairs, legal or information technology.
Under our data protection policy, we are no longer able to receive speculative CVs or covering letters.

Once your request has been received, we will start the process by having discussions with your desired team within your chosen location. If we’re able to facilitate your work experience request, we’ll be in touch to arrange a suitable time to complete your work experience with us. If we are unable to facilitate your request, we will let you know via email.
Please note that popular times, such as school summer holidays, get booked up quickly. Please allow plenty of time in advance to make your application.
Due to our health and safety policy we do not offer work experience for those under 14 years old. If you are between 14 -16 years, you can complete your work experience in a Laing O’Rourke regional or project office, however, you will not be allowed onto one of our construction sites. For those 16 and over, you can request work experience on a construction site, or at one of our depots or manufacturing facilities (along with our regional or project offices).
