Social Value Manager – Power Sector
Laing O'Rourke are looking for a Social Value Manager to lead the delivery of Social Value across live Power Sector projects, ensuring all pre-construction commitments are met safely, effectively, and with measurable impact. You will work with clients including National Grid and renewable energy partners, while shaping sector-specific approaches, frameworks, and KPIs alongside the Social Value Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Social Value delivery across the Power Sector portfolio, aligned to client and national requirements.
- Implement structured delivery systems (plans, dashboards, trackers, governance).
- Monitor performance against KPIs, Section 106 obligations, and planning commitments.
- Manage risks, reporting, and programme performance.
- Build strong client, stakeholder, and community relationships.
- Oversee data management, assurance, and impact reporting.
- Lead and mentor Social Value Advisors, promoting a project-led delivery culture.
- Collaborate across construction, sustainability, procurement, and planning teams.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' experience in Social Value within power, utilities, infrastructure, or energy.
- Strong understanding of Power Sector environments (e.g. substations, grid, renewables).
- Proven delivery on complex or multi-site projects.
- Strong project management, data analysis, and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and Social Value frameworks.
