Senior Project Planner – Power Infrastructure
Location: Oxford Circus (moving to site in Watford from May 2026)
Sector: Power / Major Civils Infrastructure
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Be part of one of the largest upgrades to the UK power network in decades — a transformative, high-value project that will shape the nation's energy future.
We're looking for a Senior Project Planner to lead the planning and coordination of complex, critical works within the power sector. If you're passionate about technical delivery, safety, and managing large-scale infrastructure projects, this is your opportunity to make a tangible impact.
In this role, you'll take ownership of planning activities across a key section of this nationally significant programme — from pre-construction to handover. Your leadership will be vital in driving safe, efficient, and high-quality project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain compliant, robust project programmes aligned to the project's business objectives.
- Plan and sequence works using collaborative, efficient construction methodologies.
- Monitor programme performance, identify risks, and drive corrective action.
- Lead planning through tender, design, procurement, and construction phases.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and the supply chain to manage interfaces and timelines.
- Provide commercial insight into programme impacts, production rates, and sequencing.
- Engage with commercial, design, and delivery teams to build realistic, achievable plans.
- Prepare and present progress reports, trends, labour efficiencies, and mitigation strategies.
- Support continuous improvement across planning processes and systems.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, sharing planning best practices.
About You
- Skilled in programme development from first principles – able to interpret drawings, perform quantity take-offs, apply output rates, determine durations, and logically sequence works.
- Confident communicator who can present complex programmes clearly to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Experienced with planning software such as Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject. Familiarity with Synchro, Navisworks, Power BI, or Asite is desirable.
- Strong contractual awareness, ideally with experience of NEC contracts.
- Engineering background preferred, with strong understanding of project lifecycle, including scope, schedule, cost, and quality management.
- Proven experience planning large-scale infrastructure or power projects, preferably substations and high-voltage works.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Chartered Membership of CIOB is desirable.
Why Join This Project?
- Long-term stability on a high-profile national infrastructure project.
- Career-defining opportunity with visibility, responsibility, and real impact.
- Supportive, inclusive culture where your contribution is recognised.
- Exposure to a diverse, integrated supply chain and multidisciplinary teams — including structures, MEP, facades, and more.
