Digital Engineering Coordinator – Main Civils Works

Location: London (6 months) with transition to Ipswich mid-next year (hybrid working: 2 days per week from home)

The Civil Works Alliance (CWA), appointed by the Sizewell C client, unites three industry-leading contractors — Laing O'Rourke, Bouygues, and Balfour Beatty — to deliver the full civils scope, including Enabling Earthworks, Main Civil Works, and Marine and Tunnelling.

We require a Digital Engineering Co-ordinator to take a role in the Civil Works Alliance Design and Build's Digital Project Delivery Team, he will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and implementing Building Information Modelling processes across multidisciplinary teams. The purpose of this role is to support the team to develop the way we will work to deliver digital information models on one of the UKs largest infrastructure projects, managing task teams and embedding any specific standards, methods and/or procedures established by the client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of Employer's Information Requirements (EIR) and Project Information Model (PIM).
  • Develop and implement digital processes and technology to manage BIM throughout construction stages.
  • Coordinate creation, management, and delivery of BIM models across the project.
  • Promote digital culture and support project delivery during Design, Construction, and Handover phases.
  • Research and implement new ways to improve efficiency, reduce costs, enhance quality, and support sustainability.
  • Assist in producing graphical, non-graphical, and document-based project information.
  • Educate project teams and supply chain on use and development of the Project Information Model.
  • Support integration of scheduling (4D), cost (5D), and asset data (6D) into BIM for construction and handover.
  • Manage As-Built models for commissioning and project closeout.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Proficient in Tekla, Revit, and collaboration tools like Navisworks and Solibri.
  • Experience with BIM clash detection, model management, and COBie requirements.
  • Skilled in delivering graphical and non-graphical data per BIM Execution Plans.
  • Familiar with Common Data Environments and industry digital standards (BS, PAS, ISO 19650).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure with project teams and supply chain.
  • Experience with 4D/5D modelling is a plus.
  • Commitment to learning and supporting digital upskilling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proven background in BIM coordination experience in design or construction projects.
  • Experience managing teams and workflows to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Digital Level 2 standards and BIM software tools.
