The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes – Sizewell C – a once-in-a-generation clean energy project that will help power over 6 million homes for decades to come.
Working within the Civil Works Alliance (a partnership between Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke), you'll play a key role in delivering integrated project controls across one of Europe's largest and most complex infrastructure programmes.
As a Project Controls Senior Engineer, you'll work closely with the Project Controls Lead and multidisciplinary project teams to provide robust programme, cost and performance controls that support successful project delivery. You'll help drive consistency, governance and reporting while providing valuable insight that enables informed decision-making across the Main Civil Works programme.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the day-to-day delivery of integrated project controls across programme, cost, productivity and performance
- Supporting the implementation of project controls strategies that drive successful delivery of major infrastructure works
- Developing and maintaining integrated reporting, forecasting and performance management processes
- Implementing and managing Earned Value Management (EVM) to monitor project performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Maintaining project control structures including WBS, CBS, OBS and associated coding frameworks
- Producing high-quality performance reports, dashboards and management information to support project decision-making
- Supporting change management processes, ensuring programme and cost impacts are accurately assessed and communicated
- Working collaboratively with Planning, Commercial, Engineering, Digital and Project Management teams to ensure consistent project controls across the programme
- Promoting the use of digital project controls tools and integrated data to improve reporting and project performance
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project controls processes, systems and governance
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience in Project Controls on major infrastructure, construction or engineering programmes
- Strong understanding of integrated project controls, including planning, cost management, forecasting and performance reporting
- Experience implementing and managing Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Strong knowledge of project controls systems such as Primavera P6, PRISM, Unifier, InEight or similar platforms
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project data and provide meaningful insight
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams
- Experience working within large-scale infrastructure, nuclear or other highly regulated environments would be advantageous
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline
- APM PMQ, APMG Project Planning & Control Practitioner or equivalent professional qualification would be desirable
