Are you a talented Digital Engineer with experience in project Digital Engineering strategies and who has contributed to the consistent application of Digital Engineering processes, standards and best practices across bids and projects?
Join our Digital Team supporting the Great Grid Partnership, a major UK infrastructure programme helping deliver the Great Grid Upgrade. In this role, you'll be the go-to digital specialist, creating data-driven solutions that improve decision-making, streamline processes, and unlock the value of project data.
The role sits within our Power Sector portfolio ( ATNC: Norwich to Tilbury Enabling Works & EACN Sub), supporting the Great Grid Partnership (GGP) for National Grid, a critical national infrastructure programme delivering the UK's Great Grid Upgrade. Along with our Laing O'Rourke delivery teams, you will work closely with our delivery partners and National Grid stakeholders to support
The successful delivery of complex energy projects through the intelligent use of data and digital tools. You will play a key role in advancing digital maturity across the programme,
supporting consistent data capture, developing and maintaining Power BI insights aligned to the Build Twin, automating processes, and upskilling site teams to help drive adoption.
The role
Reporting to the Lead Digital Engineer, you'll provide technical expertise and practical support to project teams, ensuring Digital Engineering processes and BIM standards are successfully implemented throughout project delivery.
You'll contribute to the continuous improvement of Digital Engineering capability across the business while supporting the adoption of innovative digital solutions that improve project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Digital Engineering solutions that support project and business objectives across all project phases.
- Assist project teams in applying Digital Engineering processes, standards, protocols and best practice.
- Produce and develop project-specific Digital Engineering deliverables in accordance with the Digital Engineering Deliverables Menu.
- Author, develop and coordinate high-quality 3D models, ensuring agreed Levels of Information Need and data accuracy are achieved.
- Provide technical guidance and support to Digital Engineers and wider project teams.
- Work collaboratively with Regional and Lead Digital Engineers to deliver consistent Digital Engineering standards across projects.
- Monitor compliance with project protocols, quality assurance procedures and company Digital Engineering standards.
- Support project reporting and demonstrate compliance with minimum Digital Engineering requirements.
- Contribute to the development, continuous improvement and sharing of Digital Engineering best practice and lessons learned across the business.
- Build strong working relationships with project leadership, design teams and supply chain partners to promote collaborative project delivery.
About you
You'll be an experienced Digital Engineering professional with a passion for digital innovation within the construction or infrastructure sector. You'll be confident working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and have a strong understanding of BIM processes, Digital Engineering standards and project delivery.
Essential
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
- Industry-recognised BIM or Digital Engineering qualification, accreditation or equivalent structured training.
- Experience coordinating Digital Engineering activities across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong working knowledge of industry-standard BIM and Digital Engineering software.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Desirable
- Chartered status, or actively working towards professional chartership.
- Experience using BIMcollab.
- Experience with CM Builder.
- Experience using 4D construction sequencing software such as Synchro.
- Experience developing dashboards and reporting using Power BI.
