The Civil Works Alliance (CWA), appointed by the Sizewell C client, brings together three industry-leading contractors — Laing O'Rourke, Bouygues, and Balfour Beatty — to deliver the full civils scope, including Enabling Earthworks, Main Civil Works, and Marine and Tunnelling.
Reporting to the Digital Engineering Lead, the Senior Digital Engineer will play a pivotal role in advancing digital delivery across multidisciplinary teams. You will coordinate and implement BIM processes, ensuring high-quality digital information models are developed, integrated, and leveraged throughout design, construction, and handover.
This role offers the opportunity to influence digital standards, enhance ways of working, and drive measurable improvements across a complex, large-scale infrastructure programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead coordination of BIM models across design and construction teams
- Support delivery of the Project Information Model (PIM) and Employer's Information Requirements (EIR)
- Embed digital processes, tools, and standards across all project phases
- Enable integration of programme, cost, and asset data through 4D, 5D, and 6D modelling
- Oversee model coordination, clash detection, and resolution workflows
- Identify and implement improvements to digital workflows to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety
- Champion digital adoption across project teams and supply chain partners
What skills & experience are we looking for?
Essential:
- Proven experience in Digital Engineering / BIM within complex construction or infrastructure environments
- Strong proficiency in Revit and/or Tekla, alongside coordination tools such as Navisworks, Solibri, or Trimble Connect
- Experience operating within a Common Data Environment (CDE) and structured digital workflows
- Strong understanding of BIM processes, including model management, coordination, and clash detection
- Ability to operate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Consistent track record of delivering high-quality outputs to demanding deadlines
Desirable:
- Experience with 4D and 5D modelling
- Knowledge of COBie and ISO 19650 standards
- Experience on major infrastructure or highly regulated projects
- Progression towards professional accreditation
