At Laing O'Rourke, we're delivering a major National Grid substation upgrade as part of the Wimbledon Asset Replacement Project.

This is an opportunity to play a key role on a nationally important programme that will enhance the resilience of the UK's energy network. Working with talented colleagues and partners, you'll help ensure that quality, continuous improvement and collaboration are at the heart of delivery.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Project Quality Manager who can build trusted relationships, influence positive outcomes and help teams perform at their best.

This is a highly visible role within the project leadership team, offering the chance to shape strategy, improve performance and leave a lasting legacy on a complex infrastructure programme.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading project quality, assurance and continuous improvement activities
  • Building strong relationships across project teams, suppliers and client stakeholders
  • Coaching and supporting teams to achieve right-first-time delivery
  • Using data and digital tools to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Supporting the successful assurance and handover of a critical infrastructure asset
  • Embedding a culture of learning, collaboration and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

We're interested in people who can influence others, navigate complexity and drive high standards in regulated environments.

Construction experience is not essential.

You may have developed your expertise in quality, assurance, compliance, governance, risk, operational excellence, continuous improvement or a related discipline within sectors such as:

  • Energy and utilities
  • Manufacturing and production
  • Healthcare and pharmaceuticals
  • Aerospace and aviation
  • Defence
  • Rail, transport or logistics
  • Telecommunications
  • Financial services and regulated industries

Most importantly, you'll bring:

  • Experience working in a complex or highly regulated environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to influence, collaborate and build consensus
  • A passion for improving systems, processes and outcomes
  • Confidence using data and insights to support decision-making
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • A commitment to developing others and fostering an inclusive team culture

Why Join Laing O'Rourke?

At Laing O'Rourke, you'll join a business that values different perspectives, supports professional growth and encourages people to bring their best ideas to work.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to a nationally significant infrastructure programme
  • Work alongside experienced professionals from diverse disciplines
  • Shape project outcomes and influence future best practice
  • Develop your career within a leading engineering and construction organisation
  • Support innovative approaches to quality, digital delivery and continuous improvement
