At Laing O'Rourke, we're redefining how major infrastructure is delivered. As part of the Sizewell C programme, we're looking for a Product Engineer to lead the development and delivery of a family of products that will play a critical role in one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.
This is a newly created position that brings together product development, engineering integration, manufacturing strategy and project delivery into a single role.
Initially, you'll be based from our Dartford/London locations. As the project progresses, the role will transition towards Sizewell C in Suffolk, where a greater on-site presence will be required.
What you'll be doing
You'll take ownership of a product family, such as walls, slabs and other reinforced concrete solutions, managing the entire lifecycle from concept and design through to manufacturing and delivery on site.
Working across a matrix organisation, you'll bring together technical, commercial and operational stakeholders to ensure products are developed, integrated and delivered successfully.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and delivery of a product family throughout its lifecycle.
- Acting as the central point of coordination between engineering, manufacturing, digital and project delivery teams.
- Managing technical requirements, programme milestones, risk and cost considerations.
- Driving product maturity, readiness and integration activities.
- Coordinating design reviews, assurance activities and governance processes.
- Managing key interfaces between design, manufacturing and construction teams.
- Ensuring customer and project requirements are translated into practical product solutions.
- Supporting decision-making and resolving issues through collaboration and influence.
- Providing clear visibility of product status, risks and opportunities to senior stakeholders.
What we're looking for
We're open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds, but you'll likely bring experience in:
- Product management or product ownership within engineering, construction or manufacturing.
- Project management across complex technical projects.
- Reinforced concrete, precast, structural engineering or product manufacturing environments.
- Reinforcement detailing, assembly or constructability considerations.
- Managing stakeholders across technical, commercial and operational functions.
- Planning, risk management and programme delivery.
- Working within large infrastructure, civils or manufacturing-led projects.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who can take ownership, connect teams together and drive outcomes across multiple disciplines.
