Planner – Main Civils Works
Location: Ipswich/Hybrid
Join the exciting journey of one of the UK's largest nuclear projects at Sizewell C!
The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planner to join the Main Civil Works team. The Planners role is to work with the MCW Planning Lead/ Snr Planner for one of the Delivery team sections, as well as co-ordinating with the MCW wider team, and assist in developing, managing, coordinating, and monitoring the project programme for specific reinforced concrete buildings/ structures.
CWA, appointed by the Sizewell C client, brings together three leading delivery contractors — Laing O'Rourke, Bouygues, and Balfour Beatty — to deliver the civils scope including Enabling Earthworks, Main Civil Works, and Marine and Tunnelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Working within one of the delivery sections support the section Planning Lead:
- Actively contribute to develop, maintain and update detailed master and short-term project programmes in accordance with the Project Requirements.
- Assist in developing a logical sequence and methodology to help ensure that the most beneficial construction strategy is adopted.
- Analyse performance and contribute to advising the project team of likely impact.
- Defining resource requirements.
- Assist in coordinating internal customers – supply chain, engineering, design, commercial, construction on time related matters.
- Liaise with site team and supply chain to check on progress, issues and review planned progress to ensure programme maintained.
- Highlight issues for trending and resolution.
- Record and report on efficiency of labour and resources.
- Internal and external reporting
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- A level of experience in the development of construction programmes in a civil engineering environment.
- Some experience in the planning of reinforced concrete works.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 planning software
- Comfortable working on large scale infrastructure works
Qualifications
- Degree in civil or structural engineering
- Professionally qualified or actively working towards professional qualification
