The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes – Sizewell C – a once-in-a-generation clean energy project that will help power over 6 million homes for decades to come.
Working within the Civil Works Alliance (a partnership between Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke), you'll play a key role in supporting the People team to deliver an outstanding employee experience across one of Europe's largest infrastructure projects.
As an HR Assistant, you'll provide high-quality administrative and operational support across the employee lifecycle, helping to ensure HR processes are delivered efficiently, accurately and in line with company policies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in HR within a collaborative, fast-paced and nationally significant project environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the People team with HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee records and people processes
- Coordinating recruitment, onboarding and induction activities for new starters
- Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring HR systems are kept up to date
- Acting as a first point of contact for HR-related queries, providing a professional and customer-focused service
- Building positive working relationships with employees, managers and stakeholders across the business
- Supporting the coordination of people initiatives, including wellbeing, engagement, early careers, mentoring and inclusion programmes
- Assisting with HR reporting and analysing people data to support informed decision-making
- Supporting the organisation of HR meetings, workshops, training sessions and employee events
- Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and administrative efficiencies
- Championing the Civil Works Alliance values and contributing to a positive workplace culture
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in an HR Assistant, HR Administrator or similar HR support role
- Good understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A customer-focused approach with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and continuously improve
- CIPD qualification (or working towards) or a degree in Human Resources would be advantageous
