Onboarding Advisor

Location: Orwell Park – Ipswich with Hybrid Working (3 days in the office and 2 days work from home)

The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is seeking an organised and detail-focused Onboarding Advisor to support the Sizewell C (SZC) project. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing onboarding, vetting, and compliance processes to meet client approval requirements and SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person) procedures. You'll also monitor ongoing compliance for all personnel with site access, ensuring standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with key stakeholders to deliver a smooth and efficient onboarding process.
  • Manage and maintain workforce data using the WIMS system.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring regular updates to stakeholders to support workforce and resourcing plans.
  • Verify and assess competencies of all new staff and supply chain personnel in line with SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person) procedures.
  • Collate, check, and submit pre-employment screening documentation via WIMS; monitor progress to approval.
  • Book new hires onto SZC induction and ensure all pre-site requirements are completed, including:
  • Drug & alcohol testing
  • Pre-placement medicals and safety-critical assessments
  • Oversee post-onboarding requirements set by the client.
  • Support the People Partner with role requisitions and gaining PID approvals.
  • Liaise with recruitment and HR teams to support hiring and onboarding activities.
  • Coordinate IT setup and SharePoint access for new starters.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information.

What are we looking for?

Essential:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Proven experience in an office-based administrative role
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to manage tasks with accuracy and attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with the WIMS system
  • Understanding of government-level security requirements
  • Knowledge of qualifications, competencies, and SQEP principles
  • Experience in compliance or auditing processes
