We're now looking for ambitious Digital Engineers/Senior Digital Engineers to help lead and implement project-wide digital strategies. Based in Dartford, you'll play a key role in deploying advanced 3D modelling, BIM, and digital delivery solutions across design, manufacturing, and construction.
Working within our agile Central Services team, you'll drive digital transformation, support national projects, and help shape the future of construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Digital Team Leads to scope services and deadlines for digital tasks requested company wide and regularly communicating progress and any threats to deadline and delivery.
- Ensuring the assimilation of information and representation of it in a 3D model from which all the necessary geometrically/drawn information and data can be derived.
- Responsible for the management and development of BIM models in accordance with the client and/or LOR requirements.
- Ensuring the accuracy of models and outputs.
- Ensuring assumptions made are fully documented and communicated.
- Seek out, influence, develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to deliver BIM strategies.
- Drive the development of specific solutions to deliver in accordance with our Digital Standards and best practices.
- Actively contribute towards and promote best practice and the development of LOR's Digital Engineering service offering. Seek out opportunities to influence and share lessons learnt beyond direct line management reporting lines.
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders, (e.g. bid/project senior leadership team, business unit specific).
- Proactively looking for opportunities and take the initiative to enhance digital delivery, leaning on previous experience and the surrounding team to improve outcomes and efficiency.
- Delivering digital outputs on time, to scope, and to the required standard.
- Developing and encouraging direct reports (where applicable) through constructive feedback and mentoring to ensure excellence & consistency in delivery.
- Mentoring and supporting trainees, fostering growth in 3D modelling, 4D sequencing, and 5D quantification techniques.
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Knowledge of design, manufacturing, and construction processes.
- The ability to train others (in groups/individually) to support their digital literacy journey.
- Design, construction or engineering related degree or at least 5 years relatable experience.
- At least 3 years BIM, or 3D based technology related experience.
- Experienced user of Autodesk products including Revit / ACC Suite / Navisworks.
- Knowledge and experience of applying the ISO 19650 suite of standards.
- Experienced in 3D modelling, drawing production and BIM data management.
- Able to work as a team member in the Digital Central Services Team collaborating with all those around them.
- Able to work independently, make decisions and progress at the pace agreed for the appointed task.
- The ability and willingness to travel to other projects, offices, and group events from time to time.
Desirable:
- Experience with scripting/programming (e.g. Dynamo, Python, HTML).
- Familiarity with tools such as Solibri, Trimble Connect, Lumion, Twinmotion, Power BI.
- Experience with additional 3D platforms (e.g. Civil 3D, Tekla, Bentley Suite, ArchiCAD).
- BIM certifications (e.g. BRE, buildingSMART) or other recognised qualifications.
