The Trade Specialist Systems Manager is part of the People Systems team, which supports the systems used by employees across Laing O'Rourke's Europe hub. This role focuses on the systems that support our Trade Specialist colleagues who work on site across our projects.

The role is responsible for delivering and supporting Trade Specialist systems, including managing system integrations and application interfaces (APIs). It helps ensure systems are consistent, compliant, and efficient, while supporting effective data governance.


Key Accountabilities

  • Support workforce systems including the Aurora suite, Central Log Transfer System (CLTS), HOD and Cloud user management, system guides, and Stage 2 Cloud module rate reviews.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to understand requirements and deliver effective system solutions.
  • Manage system changes, including reviewing and prioritising requests.
  • Look for opportunities to improve and streamline processes and systems, working with other People systems where possible.
  • Support the People Systems Lead by contributing to business cases for system investment.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting for the Trade Specialists team, including reports from the Mobility, DTA, and Travel Request applications.
  • Work with the People Data Analyst to develop and maintain Trade Specialist Power BI reports, including forecasting, training and competencies, agency hours, and analysis.
  • Manage the Trade Specialist Training and Competency Matrix.

Essential

  • Strong experience using LOR enterprise systems, including timesheet management systems and COINS.
  • Advanced experience writing SQL Server queries.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Understanding of GDPR and DSAR requirements.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Relations and Human Resources processes.

Skills and Attributes

  • Confident working with IT systems and supporting multiple processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Able to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships across the business.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non‑technical audiences.
  • Highly analytical, with confidence working with data and reports.
  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High level of confidentiality and strong commitment to GDPR principles.
  • Good commercial awareness and industry knowledge.
