Select Plant Hire is looking for experienced Slinger/Signallers to join our teams on major infrastructure and construction projects across the UK.

As part of our directly employed workforce, you'll play a critical role in ensuring lifting operations are carried out safely and efficiently whilst benefiting from excellent training, development and long-term career opportunities.

Key Duties

  • Safely sling and signal loads in accordance with lifting plans and site procedures.
  • Direct crane movements using approved hand signals and communication methods.
  • Inspect lifting accessories prior to use and report any defects.
  • Ensure loads are secured correctly before lifting operations commence.
  • Maintain effective communication with Crane Operators, Crane Supervisors and site management.
  • Establish and maintain safe lifting zones and exclusion areas.
  • Follow lift plans, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Report hazards, incidents and near misses promptly.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping at all times.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Slinger/Signaller on construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of lifting operations and safe systems of work.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proactive approach to health and safety.
  • Reliable, responsible and safety focused.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced site environment.
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications

  • CPCS Blue Slinger/Signaller Card (A40)
  • Valid CSCS Health, Safety and Environment Test

Desirable Qualifications

  • Crane Supervisor Qualification
  • Experience working on major infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of complex lifting operations
