The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes – Sizewell C – a once-in-a-generation clean energy project that will help power over 6 million homes for decades to come.

Working within the Civil Works Alliance (a partnership between Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke), you'll lead the end-to-end delivery of a major building package within the Main Civil Works programme, helping deliver one of Europe's largest and most complex infrastructure projects.

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll oversee the successful delivery of the HBX Building, managing activities from design development and procurement through to construction, commissioning and handover. You'll be accountable for safety, quality, programme, cost and stakeholder management, working collaboratively with client, engineering, commercial and construction teams to deliver a high-quality, compliant and efficient outcome.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the overall delivery strategy, Project Execution Plan and construction methodologies for the building package

  • Managing design development in collaboration with the client, consultants and wider Alliance teams

  • Overseeing engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities

  • Managing project budgets, schedules, risks, change and performance, using project controls and Earned Value Management

  • Leading tendering activities, subcontractor selection, contract negotiations and NEC contract management

  • Coordinating interfaces with adjacent buildings, galleries, backfill, temporary works, earthworks and utilities

  • Ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations, CDM requirements and relevant nuclear project standards

  • Providing leadership to multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and contractors to achieve project objectives

  • Reporting progress, risks, opportunities and recovery actions to senior management

  • Driving continuous improvement and applying lessons learned from Hinkley Point C and other major infrastructure projects

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience delivering major building projects or complex civil engineering works

  • Experience managing projects within regulated environments, ideally nuclear, energy or major infrastructure

  • Strong commercial, financial and programme management capabilities

  • Experience managing NEC3/NEC4 contracts and large supply chains

  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to manage complex project interfaces

  • Understanding of quality assurance, health and safety, and environmental management systems

  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline

  • Chartered status would be advantageous

  • APM, PMI or PRINCE2 qualifications would be desirable

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of one of the UK's largest and most complex infrastructure projects

  • Lead the delivery of a major building package within a nationally significant nuclear programme

  • Work within a collaborative alliance alongside industry-leading construction and engineering organisations

  • Influence project delivery from design development through to construction and handover

  • Apply and build on lessons learned from major nuclear infrastructure programmes

  • Long-term career opportunities within a major programme of works

  • Competitive salary, benefits and hybrid working arrangements
