Shape Safety Excellence on a High-Profile Ministry of Justice Project
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Health & Safety Manager to lead the health, safety and wellbeing strategy on a major Ministry of Justice project based in Bicester.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing project team and play a pivotal role in creating a positive safety culture across a complex and secure construction environment. You will work closely with project leadership, supply chain partners and client stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and compliance are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the project's Health & Safety Management System.
- Provide expert health and safety advice to project teams, senior management and subcontractors.
- Drive a positive behavioural safety culture and promote best practice across all work activities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, client requirements and company standards.
- Undertake audits, inspections and assurance reviews across the project.
- Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Analyse health and safety performance data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and deliver health and safety communications, campaigns and training initiatives.
- Engage with client representatives, regulatory bodies and other key stakeholders.
- Mentor and support Health & Safety Advisors and wider project teams.
About You
You will be a confident and influential Health & Safety professional with extensive experience working on large-scale construction, infrastructure or complex projects.
Essential Requirements
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 Health & Safety qualification).
- Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards chartered status.
- Significant experience in a senior Health & Safety role within construction or infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Experience conducting audits, investigations and assurance activities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to influence and engage teams at all levels.
