Job Title: Senior Engineer (Sub Agent)

Location: Essex

Project: Great Grid Upgrade – Norwich to Tilbury (Enabling Works)

Laing O'Rourke is recruiting a Senior Engineer (sub Agent) to join a major UK infrastructure programme as part of the Great Grid Upgrade. This nationally significant project will transform the UK's energy network, enabling the connection of 50GW of offshore wind by 2030.

This role sits on a key substation scheme within the Norwich to Tilbury route, focused on enabling works that will unlock large-scale power infrastructure delivery.

Role:

• Managing a team of Site/Section Engineers
• Utilise and recommend best engineering methods
• Design process knowledge
• RAMS
• Interpret as-built information
• Provides guidance to less experience staff
• Completes QA documentation and record keeping
• Implements ITP requirements
• Production of method statements or understanding of how they are produced
• Temporary works understanding and TWC (Temporary works coordinator)
• Understanding of materials and plant including call off schedules
• Aware of site HS&E procedures

Requirements:

• First degree in Civil Engineering Discipline, other construction related degree, or an industry recognised technical or engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, NVQ level 4) plus demonstrable experience in a construction delivery environment.
• Circa 6 years relevant technical / practical experience within an engineering role.
