Section Engineer – Power (Substation)

Be part of one of the largest upgrades of electrical infrastructure in Wales with an opportunity on one of our Substation Projects — a transformative, high-value project that will shape the nation's energy future.
We're looking for a Section Engineer to take the lead on complex technical set up and delivery of critical infrastructure in the Power sector. If you're passionate about delivering technical excellence, driving safety, and managing major infrastructure at scale, we want to hear from you.
You'll provide technical construction of the civil engineering of a GIS Substation. Supported by a team of Engineers you will deliver; concrete sub-structure, steel support, steel frame & cladding and non-HV mechanical and electrical works.
Key Responsibilities
- Supportand manage civil engineering activities on power sector construction projects
- Provide technical expertise across earthworks, concrete structures, foundations, drainage, and associated infrastructure
- Oversee setting out, temporary works supervision, and construction methodologies
- Creating RAMS, ITPS and NCRs
- Being Focal point for upholding quality standards
- Ensure works are delivered in line with design, specifications, programme, and budget
- Manage and mentor junior engineers
- Liaise closely with project engineers, subcontractors, and precurment
- Drive high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental performance
- Support planning, risk management, and technical assurance processes
About You
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience delivering civil engineering works within the power, energy, or major infrastructure sectors
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy civils and complex construction environments
- Experience working for a main contractor on large, multi-disciplinary projects
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach with a strong commercial awareness
- Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE or equivalent) is desirable
