The People Advisor will deliver HR expertise, coaching, and guidance to line managers, promoting people management best practice. The role will manage the effective delivery of people strategies, policies, and processes across the Monklands Replacement Hospital Project. Initially office-based in Central Glasgow, the position will transition to the Monklands Replacement Hospital project site as the project progresses. A great opportunity for a developing HR professional wanting to grow their skills and experience in a semi-autonomous role.
A key focus will be ensuring that operational people decisions and processes reflect best practice and are fully aligned with the project's strategic priorities. The role will play a critical part in ensuring the People function makes a visible and impactful contribution to the project team- people risks are managed effectively, and policies/processes are implemented consistently creating a positive people experience.
Key Deliverables and Accountabilities
- Deliver day-to-day HR support and advice on a range of employee relations matters including performance, conduct, absence, and grievance issues at the project level.
- Support project leadership and line managers with resource planning, recruitment, onboarding, Talent Management and resourcing activities to meet project requirements efficiently.
- Work closely with the central People function and Recruitment Business Partner to coordinate recruitment plans and internal mobility opportunities on the project.
- Maintain accurate data and provide timely management information and reports to support project decision-making.
- Support the delivery of HR initiatives linked to health, safety, wellbeing, and employee engagement within the project environment.
- Promote a positive employee culture, identifying risks early and escalating as appropriate to mitigate impact.
- Contribute to HR-related projects and change activities on site, ensuring smooth delivery and adherence to governance standards.
Technical Capabilities
Practical experience delivering HR advice and support within a construction or similarly complex, project-based environment.
Basic knowledge of employee relations and employment law, with the ability to provide pragmatic, compliant guidance to a varied level of stakeholders.
Understanding of recruitment and resourcing processes in a fast-moving operational setting.
Key Skills
CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience).
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build positive working relationships.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.
Competent user of Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
