Project MEP Planner – Brighton Hospital Project

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project MEP Planner to join our team on a major hospital development in Brighton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an up-and-coming planning professional to play a key role in delivering a complex healthcare project. Working as part of an experienced planning and project team, you will support the successful delivery of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health) works from construction through to completion.

This is a full-time, site-based role, offering strong career development and progression within a leading engineering and construction organisation.


What You'll Be Doing

As a Project MEP Planner, you will support the planning, coordination, and control of all building services elements on the project. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed programmes across all project stages: design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and handover
  • Supporting the integration of MEP programmes into the overall master project programme
  • Coordinating MEP planning activities with the wider project team, stakeholders, and supply chain
  • Monitoring progress, analysing performance, and identifying risks and opportunities
  • Producing accurate reports, forecasts, and progress updates
  • Supporting the implementation of robust project controls and reporting processes
  • Ensuring all programmes are compliant with project requirements and contractual obligations
  • Assisting in the development of construction strategies and communicating improvements
  • Coordinating time-related information across all stakeholders
  • Supporting testing and commissioning planning activities
  • Proactively engaging with other departments to ensure programme alignment
  • Assisting in mentoring and supporting junior team members
  • Representing the project in meetings with internal and external stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in MEP project planning within construction or engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, installation sequencing, and commissioning processes
  • Proficiency in planning software such as Asta Powerproject and/or Primavera P6
  • Experience or exposure to 4D planning and digital modelling
  • Good knowledge of project controls, reporting, and forecasting
  • Understanding of NEC contracts and time-related processes
  • Ability to develop and manage detailed project programmes
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and support decision-making
  • Effective stakeholder communication and coordination skills

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working on healthcare or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Experience contributing to planning and controls on major projects
  • Awareness of strategic planning processes and programme management systems
  • Understanding of stakeholder interfaces and their impact on project programmes

Qualifications

  • HNC / Degree in Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
  • Membership of CIOB or CIBSE (desirable)
