Join the exciting journey of one of the UK's largest nuclear projects at Sizewell C!
The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is seeking a Package Manager to lead delivery of a key section of the Marine and Tunnelling works. This role provides leadership of a complex package of work, managing resources, suppliers and interfaces across the wider civils programme to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality delivery.
You will take responsibility for the full lifecycle of your package — from strategy and planning through to engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning — ensuring outcomes are achieved to cost, schedule and quality, while meeting the highest health, safety and environmental standards.
CWA, appointed by the Sizewell C client, brings together three leading contractors — Laing O'Rourke, Bouygues, and Balfour Beatty — to deliver the civils scope including Enabling Earthworks, Main Civil Works, and Marine and Tunnelling.
Key Responsibilities
-
Define the scope of works for the package and manage interfaces with other parts of the programme
-
Secure and manage the required resources, ensuring SQEP compliance and addressing any personnel shortfalls
-
Develop and implement effective execution strategies and plans in line with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP)
-
Maintain effective communications with stakeholders, managing delivery to programme, budget and technical requirements
-
Drive safe delivery of the package, applying risk management and continuous improvement practices
-
Track progress against milestones, schedules and budgets, escalating issues and resolving risks proactively
-
Ensure Level 3 schedules are aligned with programme milestones and escalate discrepancies where required
-
Oversee contractual delivery, ensuring List of Deliverables (LOD) are met and contractual requirements fulfilled
-
Manage subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to deliver work to time and quality standards
-
Apply commercial management, including contractor applications for payment, claims resolution and change control
-
Capture lessons learned and embed knowledge sharing across the project
-
Support collaborative working across interfacing packages to ensure alignment and best practice adoption
What skills & experience are we looking for?
Essential:
-
Proven track record of delivering projects in technically complex and highly regulated environments, ideally nuclear or infrastructure
-
Strong project management skills covering engineering, procurement, contract and construction delivery
-
Experience managing subcontractors, consultants and suppliers across large construction programmes
-
Knowledge of NEC contracts and experience managing cost, risk, schedule, change and claims resolution
-
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills
-
Excellent organisational, numerical and analytical ability
Desirable:
-
Experience in Marine or Tunnelling packages on major infrastructure programmes
-
Engineering or construction-related degree
