Head of IT Strategy, Planning & Performance

Laing O'Rourke is looking for a Head of IT Strategy, Planning & Performance to play a central role in shaping how technology supports the organisation's long-term ambitions.

This role will act as a strategic partner to the Head of IT, ensuring that technology strategy, planning and performance management are fully aligned with the Group's priorities.

You will bring structure, clarity and pace to how the IT function plans, prioritises and delivers outcomes, helping the leadership team operate as a cohesive and high-performing unit while ensuring technology investments deliver measurable value.

What will the role look like?

You will play a key role in:

• Leading the development and refresh of the IT strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and enterprise architecture direction.
• Coordinating strategic planning and portfolio management, ensuring technology investments, resources and capabilities are focused on the most critical outcomes.
• Driving performance management and value realisation, establishing reporting frameworks that track benefits, investment outcomes and delivery effectiveness.
• Enabling the IT Leadership Team to operate effectively, supporting governance, decision-making, executive communication and strategic alignment across the function.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

• We are looking for a strategic technology leader who can combine business insight with strong operational delivery.
• Ideally, you will bring:
• Proven experience shaping and delivering IT or digital strategies within complex, multi-stakeholder organisations.
• Strong experience across portfolio management, strategic planning, transformation programmes or enterprise PMO environments.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear priorities and actionable insights.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience supporting senior leadership teams and influencing executive decision-making.
