Job Role: Fleet Controller

Location: Dartford

Driver Licence: Essential (automatic licence holders will be considered)

Select, part of Laing O'Rourke, is looking for a Fleet Controller to join our Fleet team. This key role supports the day-to-day operation of our car and van fleet, ensuring vehicles remain compliant, safe and operational. You'll coordinate with drivers, garages and service partners while managing both planned and reactive fleet activities in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide general administrative support across the Fleet department.
  • Complete DVLA licence checks for new starters and remove licence monitoring for leavers.
  • Arrange monthly insurer reimbursement payments relating to fault accident claims.
  • Process VAT defence cost invoice payments.
  • Produce no claims letters for drivers when required.
  • Manage Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) for company vehicles.
  • Maintain vehicle compliance, including MOTs and vehicle taxation.
  • Monitor and manage the Fleet inbox, responding to driver queries and requests.
  • Arrange hire vehicles following accidents, breakdowns and business travel requirements.
  • Coordinate the collection of company vehicles from employees leaving the business.
  • Liaise with drivers to arrange in-vehicle assessments.
  • Support the wider Fleet team with additional administrative and operational tasks as required.

About You

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Good administrative experience and accuracy when handling data.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and understanding of GDPR requirements.
  • A full, clean driving licence.
