Expanded Piling are currently recruiting for a Digital Engineer to work on our Sizewell C project in Leiston, Suffolk.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Actively contributes to the implementation of Digital Engineering by supporting the application of DE tasks and processes during construction and handover stages. 
  • Supports the development of Laing O'Rourke staff to deliver Digital Engineering in line with their discipline specific responsibilities. 
  • Proactively supports the Digital Engineering lead in delivering to projects in accordance with our scope of services as set out in the Digital Engineering Deliverables Menu. 
  • Participates in maintaining collaborative working relationships with key Stakeholders, both internal and external, to deliver DE/BIM deliverables. 
  • Contributes to best practice and the development of the Digital Engineering service offering through proactive communication with other members of the Digital Engineering team. 
  • Work in compliance with defined LOR Digital Engineering procedures and processes. 
  • To understand the project specific Digital Engineering (BIM) requirements as informed by client and stakeholders. Where necessary support the Digital Engineering lead when working closely with the Project/Bid Leader to define requirements. 
  • Contribute to the development of 3D Model information and associated outputs, e .g. visual, logistical, 4D, temporary works, and quantification, to assist the project team to effectively communicate and deliver to critical agreed deadlines. 
  • Accountable for supporting and contributing to the clear communication of the process, protocol and training required to support the implementation of Digital Engineering, on ‘projects under an individual's responsibility' 
  • Accountable for  reporting on project implementation and support under individual's responsibility, to both project leadership & functional leads 
  • Accountable for the capture and sharing of best practice relating to implementation and support on projects under individual's responsibility 
  • Supporting  the Digital Engineering lead with the thorough project protocols set-up and implementation based on industry standards (BS 1192:2007, PAS1192-2, PAS-1192-3, BS1192-4, PAS1192-5) 
  • Understand and enable the Digital Engineering capability of project stakeholders  

Requirements: 

  • Working towards a Degree in Architectural  or Engineering discipline (Civil Engineering / Architectural Technology / Building Services / Structural Engineering), or other construction related degree 
  • Working towards an industry recognized BIM specific accreditation or structured training, or Chartership. 
  • Geotechnical / Piling experience 
  • Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform 
  • Primarily PowerBI 
  • Knowledge level with PowerApps and PowerAutomate 
  • Core data skills including collating, processing, analysing and visualising.
