You will be part of an exciting project supporting several schemes currently in the preconstruction and delivery phase.

Location: Dartford with travel across projects in the Southern region   

Main purpose of role:

  • Assist the Senior Sustainability Manager with strategy projects and provide sustainability assurance across the Expanded projects (both structures and geotechnical) including data support, site visits to undertake compliance inspections, auditing, continuous improvement monitoring and driving innovation.

What will the role look like?

  • Support the Senior Sustainability Manager with day-to-day tasks, including progressing strategy led projects
  • Help develop future sustainability strategies for Expanded
  • Champion the implementation of the business sustainability strategy across all Expanded projects
  • Assure compliance with the LOR Environmental Management System and Carbon Management System across the projects and help develop supporting documentation for project operations
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements on the project/s and report progress
  • Provide technical advice and direct help to the project/s, clients and contractors to assist with the resolution of sustainability issues
  • Engage the project teams to ensure works are planned to manage environmental risk and engage with the workforce to ensure mitigations are adequately implemented
  • Collect, analyse and report on sustainability performance and data and undertake inspections as per client and LOR requirements
  • Investigate and report environmental incidents, non-conformances and corrective actions
  • Promote the reduction of energy use and carbon emissions, engaging with the project/s and client team/s to identify opportunities for reduction and report as required to the client and LOR
  • Support the business in driving our ambitions to deliver decarbonised solutions
  • Support project audits, both internal and external

What skills & experience are we looking for?

You'll be interested in a career in sustainability and construction, be an eager individual who is willing to learn, collaborative and a confident communicator  

  • Ability to travel readily (car required)
  • Experience in the industry desired but not required
  • High level of personal drive and commitment, with effective goal setting ability
  • Strong time management and organisation skills – a proactive self starter
  • Be capable of meeting deadlines agreed and focus on prioritising activities
  • Positive approach to the challenges of change, help others to become receptive and responsive to change
  • Proficient in data collation (excel) and performance reporting
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to build and maintain good working relationships
  • Be able to comfortably deliver presentations / training / briefings

Qualifications

  • Membership of IEMA, IES or IEEM (Graduate/ Associate level or equivalent preferred)
  • A relevant degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
