Temporary Works Coordinator– Enabling and Earthworks

Location: Suffolk

The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to support the successful delivery of the Sizewell C Project.

CWA, appointed by the Sizewell C client, brings together three leading delivery contractors — Laing O'Rourke, Bouygues, and Balfour Beatty — to deliver the civils scope including Enabling Earthworks, Main Civil Works, and Marine and Tunnelling.

We are seeking a Temporary Works Coordinator to play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of temporary works across the Sizewell C project. Reporting to the Temporary Works Manager, you'll coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders to manage the implementation of complex temporary works schemes on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with design, construction, and client teams to manage temporary works safely and effectively
  • Liaise with the client to ensure approvals, certification, and safety requirements are met
  • Prepare and review design briefs, ensuring codes and standards (including offshore works) are followed
  • Manage the Temporary Works Schedule, updating and reviewing designs with the project team
  • Ensure designs are completed to time and quality requirements, with risks properly identified and managed
  • Oversee issue of “for construction” drawings and confirm construction is carried out in line with approved designs
  • Carry out inspections of temporary works, supervising Temporary Works Supervisors (TWS) where delegated
  • Ensure appropriate hold points are in place and inspections completed before critical operations
  • Lead “Learning from Experience” reviews to capture improvements for future projects

What skills & experience are we looking for?

Essential:

  • Strong experience in temporary works on large, complex infrastructure projects
  • Offshore experience with specific knowledge of lifting operations
  • Completion of an approved Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) training course, with up-to-date refresher training
  • Proven experience in applying BMS Temporary Works procedures or equivalent standards
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple interfaces

Desirable:

  • Formal qualifications such as HNC or Degree in Engineering
