Hours: 6am - 6pm, working on a 7-days on / 7-days off rotation

Ideal candidate would be local to the Dartford Head Office

About the role: 

We're looking for a Senior Security Guard to be the professional and welcoming face of Laing O'Rourke. This is a key front of house position where you'll provide both security oversight and exceptional customer service in a corporate office environment. As part of our Facilities team, you'll play an important role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and smooth operation of our workplace. You'll oversee access control, support building security, and create a positive experience for everyone who visits or works within our offices. The role is varied and hands on, with tasks such as assisting with deliveries, moving parcels or equipment, and helping to maintain a well presented environment. We're seeking a professional who takes pride in their appearance, communicates clearly and confidently, and understands the importance of delivering an excellent first impression in a corporate setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake both night and day shifts on a specified rotational pattern including annual leave cover for colleagues
  • Present yourself in a professional manner as the initial client facing concierge representative of LOR
  • Manage the recording of staff and visitors on arrival and departure, issuing building passes where necessary, providing relevant direction when required and ensuring all passes are collected or disabled at the end of the day
  • Process any post entering the building, liaising with the post room on receipt.
  • Book in and out fleet cars as requested by the fleet department.
  • To be an all-round general point of contact for all building enquires, directing staff to the relevant points where required.
  • Undertake regular patrols of the building, assessing for any security or maintenance problems, and reporting where necessary.
  • Monitor CCTV for unusual activity
  • Complete fire safety checks of the building and completing the paperwork for the facilities team for audit
  • Primary point of contact for first aid and fire marshal evacuations

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a corporate or professional front-of-house environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Outlook and other office systems
  • Experience with CCTV and access control systems
  • First Aid training (advantageous)
