The Quantity Surveyor Opportunity:

Select is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Dartford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial professional to take ownership of key commercial activities, work closely with project teams and contribute to the successful delivery of projects.

What will the role look like?

• Taking responsibility for the commercial management of allocated work sections and packages.
• Managing measurement, valuations and agreement of work sections.
• Drafting, managing and settling subcontracts.
• Managing interim applications for payment and internal valuations.
• Monitoring and reporting monthly costs, forecasts and commercial performance.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation.
• Advising project management on contractual and commercial implications of proposed actions.
• Supporting the development and submission of claims.
• Identifying change and administering the change control process.
• Managing final accounts, including pricing and agreement.
• Producing monthly contract review reports.
• Compiling weekly Business Performance Review (BPR) information.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring these are communicated to the wider team.
• Providing clear and confident commercial advice to project and senior management.
• Supporting the development of trainee and assistant Commercial personnel where appropriate.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

• Degree or higher qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial role within the construction industry.
• Good knowledge of COINS, including subcontract and cost management.
• Strong understanding of commercial and contractual management, with excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership and provide effective commercial support to project teams.
• A proactive approach with the ability to identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
