About the role: The Quality Manager supports the project team in developing and maintaining project procedures, including the project quality plan. They ensure the project meets all required standards and contract requirements. The role also provides quality assurance and control support, helping the team deliver excellent work and keep customers satisfied.
In addition, the Quality Manager leads assurance and compliance activities, working with project leadership to set a strong quality culture and drive ongoing improvements. This is a site-based role and may sometimes require travel and overnight stays.
Responsibilities include:
- Implement the Quality Management System in line with the Quality Policy.
- Manage Quality within assigned areas and act as a Quality contact for stakeholders, including third-party certification assessors
- Deliver training, inductions, toolbox talks across the project (i.e. leadership, supervisors and managers, interfaces and workforce) to improve productivity, quality, sustainability, and safety by eliminating errors.
- Guide and review execution deliverables such as Quality Plans, Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans, Work Procedures and Material Approval Forms, including those prepared by Suppliers.
- Lead/support the Quality Incident Event Process (QIEP) for Category 1 Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring thorough investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Support the QIEP panel and ensure compliance with the QIEP procedure.
- Ensure the development and effective management of LTQR / handover documents. Work closely with information management to guarantee progressive collation of records, maintaining the golden thread of information and submissions to the client as required.
- Degree in Geomatics/Engineering Surveying or Tech Qual (NVQ/TSA) or relevant qualifications preferred
- Support Europe Hub strategies, objectives, and initiatives. Attend Europe Hub Quality briefings and forums to support cross-sector/hub lessons learned.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong communication skills and confidence in developing relationships across the project, organisation, supply chain, clients and wider networks.
- Experience in Quality across governance, assurance, compliance, improvement and leadership with strong technical knowledge.
- Understanding of project systems (e.g., Fieldview, Asite, Trimble) for digital construction and assurance.
- Technical and Quality opportunity and risk management.
- Skilled at prioritisation and implementation in complex environments.
Qualifications (Desirable):
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor certified or working towards. Recent application of audit skills is preferred.
- A Chartered Member of the (CQI) Chartered Quality Institute (or an equivalent recognised Quality body), or an appropriate engineering institute or working towards.
