About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Project Planner to join our team on the Calderdale Royal Hospital project — a major healthcare development in West Yorkshire.

This is a full-time, site-based role offering a fantastic opportunity to work alongside an experienced project team on a large-scale, high-profile scheme. The project is currently nearing the end of its Pre-Construction Services Agreement (PCSA) phase, with construction set to commence in Summer 2026 and run through to Q2 2029.

This role is ideal for an up-and-coming planner seeking to develop their career within a leading construction and engineering organisation.


What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of the site team, you will take ownership of planning and programme management activities, ensuring the successful delivery of the project. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and coordinating planning and programming processes

  • Developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes

  • Ensuring compliance with project requirements and business plans

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define the most efficient construction strategies

  • Analysing project performance and recommending improvements

  • Producing accurate reporting, forecasting and progress updates

  • Coordinating time-related information across stakeholders, partners and supply chain

  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members

  • Driving continuous improvement in planning processes

  • Representing the project in meetings with internal and external stakeholders


What We're Looking For

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience in project planning on civil engineering or construction projects

  • Strong understanding of project controls, reporting and forecasting

  • Ability to develop and maintain detailed programmes

  • Experience working with project management systems and planning tools

  • Confident in analysing data to support decision-making

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • Ability to coach and support junior team members

Desirable Experience

  • Involvement in pre-contract planning and work winning activities

  • Experience developing relationships with client representatives

  • Knowledge of strategic planning and programme management systems

  • Experience with 4D planning/modelling and bid programme preparation

  • Experience working in Healthcare construction projects.

Qualifications

  • HNC / Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field (preferred)

  • Membership of CIOB (desirable)
