Procurement Manager - Plant Hire

Select Plant Hire is looking for a Procurement Manager to join our growing team  based in St Neots.

This position plays a key role in ensuring our projects have access to the plant, tools and equipment they need, when they need it. Working closely with operational teams and suppliers, you'll manage external plant hire agreements, develop supplier relationships, and drive value across our supply chain.

The role focuses primarily on external plant hire and tools. Where equipment is not available within our own fleet, you'll be responsible for sourcing solutions through our supplier network while ensuring quality, value, and service levels are achieved.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for externally hired plant, tools and equipment
• Manage supplier relationships and performance across a range of key supply chain partners
• Negotiate commercial terms and hire agreements
• Identify opportunities to improve cost, service and supply chain resilience
• Work with operational teams to understand current and future project requirements
• Monitor market conditions and supplier capability
• Support continuous improvement across procurement and supplier management processes
• Provide reporting and performance insights to key stakeholders
• Manage risk and ensure compliance with procurement governance requirements
