About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Health & Safety Advisor to support our Crown House Manufacturing facility in Oldbury. This role plays a key part in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing across our manufacturing operations.

You will work closely with operational teams to promote a positive safety culture, provide practical guidance, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal safety standards. The role also supports the development and delivery of the organisation's health and safety strategy.

This is a site-based role within a modern manufacturing environment, with occasional visits to other facilities as required. Flexibility may be needed to support operational activities, including occasional night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across manufacturing operations.
  • Provide local advice and support to employees across CEMC to help them fulfil their safety responsibilities.
  • Facilitate and coach operational teams on the principles of “Rethinking Safety through Inclusion and Wellbeing”, using engagement tools to effectively connect with the workforce.
  • Carry out health and safety assurance activities to provide confidence that operational H&S processes are effective.
  • Gather regular feedback from the workforce and communicate insights to management to support inclusive leadership and continuous improvement.
  • Research and promote innovative technologies, methods and services that support the safe delivery of work.
  • Support and coordinate the investigation of incidents, including high-potential incidents, ensuring effective learning outcomes and timely closure of actions.
  • Contribute to the development of the CEMC Health & Safety strategy and goals.
  • Promote, capture and share health and safety best practice across the business through internal communications and external platforms.
  • Facilitate learning opportunities and effectively cascade business and industry safety communications.
  • Act as a point of contact when communicating with regulatory and enforcement bodies, ensuring professional and timely correspondence where required.
  • Support the implementation of the Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company standards.
  • Monitor the closure of actions arising from assurance activities, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Support the identification of training and coaching requirements and facilitate the delivery of relevant safety training.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a Health & Safety role within manufacturing, engineering, construction or a similar operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and management systems.
  • Ability to coach, influence and engage with teams at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and safety innovation.
  • Experience supporting incident investigations and assurance processes.

Working Arrangements

  • Full-time role based at the Oldbury manufacturing facility.
  • Flexibility required to support operational activities.
  • Occasional travel to other facilities may be required.
  • Occasional night shifts may be required depending on operational needs.
