Reports To:  European Finance Director 

Purpose of Post:

The purpose of this role is to provide high quality financial business partnering to The Business Unit Leadership, and robust financial management, reporting and insight into the BU performance.  This will be delivered through fostering close relationships with a range of accountable people within the BU and across our projects.

Main Accountabilities:

The role comprises of the following key responsibilities:

  • Managing key relationships within the business unit to develop a deep understanding of business unit financial performance, how we may manage emerging risks, and grasp emerging opportunities.
  • Providing insight into performance for Business Unit Leadership Team and the Hub Leadership Team through the monthly reporting cycle, profit enhancement reviews, and quarterly planning processes.
  • Have a deep and intrinsic understanding of the drivers to project cash flows to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to optimise our position and that the relevant elements of this are incorporated into the Hub Cash Planning activities.
  • Have influential relationships with partners from outside of LOR within a range Partnership Arrangements that are operated within this BU.
  • Supporting project audits through understanding operational activity in the context of IAS, liaising with Group Finance, and ensuring project positions and performance are understood by our auditors.
  • Managing and providing a development framework for the Business Unit Finance Team.
  • Any other ad hoc requirements

Relevant Experience:

Essential:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent);
  • Experience of the financial management of large subcontracting businesses and manufacturing business supplying into the construction sector.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with a demonstrable record of being a trusted business partner to senior leaders. An ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to build and maintain productive working relationships;
  • Proven experience of working in a deadline driven environment with the ability to prioritise workload;
  • Experience of developing and improving processes;
  • Good commercial acumen;
  • Strong financial and analytical skills;
  • Experience of managing budgets, forecasts and monthly reporting;

Desirable:

  • Experience using COINs, SAP, Tagetik and Power BI;
  • Experience of working within the finance function of a large organisation.
