Expanded are currently recruiting for a Senior Quality Manager / Quality Lead to support the function across a range of multi-disciplinary projects.

Role & responsibilities:
Management System Control and Leadership
- Lead the implementation and upkeep of the QMS across the Expanded Business Unit.
- Develop and maintain BU-specific processes aligned with iGMS and the hub Quality Manual.
- Represent Quality in leadership meetings and chair the monthly Ops & Quality forum.
- Monitor industry trends and customer needs to drive continuous improvement.
- Liaise regularly with Explore Manufacturing Quality regarding manufactured products.
Operations and Implementation
- Provide quality oversight from bid to completion across all projects, including supply chain packages.
- Represent Quality in internal/external meetings and maintain key stakeholder relationships.
- Champion a Quality Culture; identify risks, escalate issues, and pause works when necessary.
- Review and advise on Quality Plans, ITPs, Work Procedures, and Supplier documentation.
- Oversee assurance, LTQRs, and certification packs, ensuring progressive client submission.
- Support quality strategies and escalate performance risks/opportunities.
- Engage with external bodies to align with industry best practices and innovation.
- Provide leadership to quality managers; manage resources and career development tools.
- Appoint or act as Quality Representative as needed.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Conduct internal audits and close out findings; support ISO 9001 and BS 99001 compliance.
- Track Quality KPIs (e.g., NCRs, Snags, Audits) and share insights with the SLT.
- Deliver regular reports.
Training
- Deliver training, inductions, and toolbox talks to reduce errors and improve outcomes.
- Lead GIRI training and support forums, Quality Week, CQI mentoring, and external engagement.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in Quality across governance, assurance, compliance, improvement, and leadership with strong technical knowledge.
- Familiarity with high assurance regulated industries (e.g., Power, Nuclear, Rail, Energy, Healthcare).
- Strong communicator in all mediums and confidence in developing relationships across the organisation, supply chain, clients, and wider project networks. Previous experience in a similar leadership position with experience managing teams.
- Good experience working with reinforced in-situ and pre-cast concrete in complex environments.
- Thorough understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and associated standards e.g. ISO 10005:2018 and how they are applied to eliminate risk and build in excellence.
- Excellent IT skills: ability to interpret data and highlight trends/opportunities.
- Thorough knowledge of project systems e.g. Fieldview; Asite; Trimble and how these enable digital construction and assurance.
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor certified or working towards. Recent application of audit skills is preferred.
- A Chartered Member of the (CQI) Chartered Quality Institute (or an equivalent recognised Quality body), or an appropriate engineering institute or working towards.
