Are you a civil engineer with a flair for digital tools and a deep appreciation for reinforced concrete design? Looking to shape the future of construction with precision, automation, and modern methods?

Laing O'Rourke is looking for a Digital Engineer – Rebar & Reinforced Concrete to lead the charge in transforming how we deliver reinforced concrete structures — from virtual model to real-world manufacture.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Craft highly detailed digital models for concrete and reinforcement using Tekla Structures, aligned to the latest UK standards.

• Translate those models into rebar schedules, bar bending lists, and fabrication-ready outputs.

• Drive digital integration between design and offsite production – think automated bending machines, clash detection, and virtual prototyping.

• Collaborate with engineers, manufacturers, and BIM specialists to streamline rebar workflows and improve constructability.

• Contribute to the development of data-rich digital solutions for logistics and manufacturing.

What You'll Bring:

• A qualification in Civil Engineering (HNC/D minimum) and practical experience in rebar and concrete detailing.

• Expertise with Tekla Structures, AutoCAD or Revit, and a passion for digital engineering.

• A working knowledge of UK standards (BS 8666, Eurocodes) and a desire to push boundaries in how they're applied.

• A collaborative mindset and interest in construction tech, factory integration, or automation.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with BIM coordination (e.g. clash detection, federated models).

• Exposure to offsite or DfMA methods.

• Basic scripting knowledge (Tekla API, Dynamo, etc.) or involvement in digital tool or component development.
