The Opportunity:
Explore Manufacturing is looking to strengthen its Commercial team at the Laing O'Rourke Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction – Europe's largest and most advanced pre-assembly manufacturing facility.
We're open to candidates at Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager level, depending on experience.
Our purpose-built facility brings together construction expertise, innovative processes and advanced technology to deliver leaner, smarter and more cost-efficient solutions for the built environment.
This is an opportunity to be part of a team helping to shape the future of construction through modern methods of manufacture and innovative project delivery.
What will the role look like?
Depending on experience and level, responsibilities may include:
- Managing commercial activities including measurement, valuation, cost reporting and forecasting.
- Preparing and managing interim applications, payments and certifications.
- Managing subcontract packages, including procurement, administration, change and final accounts.
- Preparing, negotiating and managing claims and commercial changes.
- Providing contractual and commercial input into project business plans and budgets.
- Supporting contract reviews, BPR information and management accounts.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
- Working with project teams, clients, subcontractors and consultants to achieve strong commercial outcomes.
- Supporting the development of colleagues within the wider Commercial team.
- Ensuring appropriate commercial governance and contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
- Relevant commercial experience within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Experience across subcontract management, cost control, change, risk and commercial reporting.
- Knowledge of relevant forms of contract.
- Strong commercial and financial management skills.
- A collaborative approach to working with project teams, clients and supply chain partners.
- Commitment to continued learning, development and career progression.
