About the Role

Select Plant Hire, part of Laing O'Rourke has introduced an exciting new Specialist Fabrication business stream and, as part of its continued growth, we are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the team.

This is a rare opportunity to join a newly established business stream at an early stage of its journey and play a key role in its future success. Working alongside the Operations Lead and Product Lead, you'll be one of the first members of a small, ambitious team helping to shape processes, develop supplier networks and support the continued growth of the business.

No two days will be the same. You'll be involved across commercial, operational, procurement and customer-focused activities, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to make a genuine impact. As the business stream continues to expand, there will be excellent opportunities for career progression and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customer enquiries, quotations and commercial requests.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Support work-winning activities and identify opportunities for business growth.
• Coordinate production schedules, factory capacity and subcontractor activities.
• Source and onboard new suppliers and subcontractors.
• Manage materials, procurement activities and stock levels.
• Attend site visits, planning meetings and stakeholder reviews.
• Support project delivery by working closely with operational teams.
• Monitor costs, invoicing and commercial performance.
• Ensure quality, safety and compliance standards are maintained.
• Carry out assurance activities, audits and reporting where required.
• Support continuous improvement across the Specialist Fabrication business stream.

About You

We're looking for someone who is proactive, commercially aware and excited by the opportunity to help grow a new business stream.

You will ideally have:

• Experience within fabrication, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain or a related industry.
• Knowledge of carbon steel fabrication, manufacturing processes or engineered products.
• Experience preparing quotations and managing customer or commercial enquiries.
• Understanding of procurement, stock control and materials management.
• Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent planning, organisation and communication skills.
• The ability to build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• A flexible approach and willingness to get involved across multiple areas of the business.
