Senior Commissioning Manager

Are you passionate about delivering mission-critical infrastructure, driving technical excellence, and ensuring quality, safety, and performance at every stage?

We're delivering the full MEP scope for a major data centre development in Slough and are looking for an experienced Senior Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning strategy and delivery across all MEP systems. This is a technically complex, mission-critical project where resilience, reliability, and operational performance are critical to successful delivery.

As Senior Commissioning Manager, you'll take ownership of the commissioning programme from planning through to final handover. You'll lead multidisciplinary commissioning teams, coordinate specialist contractors and consultants, and ensure all systems are tested, validated, and handed over in line with programme and client requirements.

If you join us, you'll become a valued member of an industry-leading engineering team delivering some of the UK's most technically demanding projects. At Crown House Technologies, we are committed to investing in our people through training, development, and long-term career opportunities, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their career within the Laing O'Rourke Group.

What will I be doing?

  • Lead the delivery of the commissioning programme for MEP systems on a major data centre project in London.

  • Develop and implement the Commissioning Execution Plan, including commissioning methodology, sequencing, resource planning, and programme integration.

  • Coordinate commissioning activities across subcontractors, consultants, client representatives, and internal project teams.

  • Manage all phases of commissioning, including:

    • Static Completion

    • Pre-Functional Testing

    • Functional Performance Testing

    • Integrated Systems Testing (IST)

    • Building Performance Testing

  • Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and on-site commissioning activities.

  • Manage the commissioning of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including HV/LV systems, UPS, standby generators, cooling systems, BMS, EPMS, and life safety systems.

  • Ensure compliance with BSRIA, CIBSE, CSA Commissioning Management standards, IET Regulations, client commissioning requirements, and industry best practice.

  • Monitor commissioning progress, manage risks and programme impacts, and provide clear reporting to project leadership.

  • Ensure commissioning documentation, test records, O&M manuals, and handover documentation are completed accurately and in line with project requirements.

  • Promote safe systems of work and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

  • Support integrated testing, client witnessing, operator training, seasonal commissioning, and post-handover activities.

What do we look for?

  • Extensive experience delivering commissioning on complex MEP projects, ideally within data centres or other mission-critical environments.

  • Strong technical understanding of building services design, operation, and commissioning processes.

  • Experience commissioning critical electrical and mechanical systems.

  • CSA Grade 6, CM2 accreditation, or equivalent commissioning management experience.

  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary commissioning teams.

  • Excellent communication, planning, stakeholder management, and reporting skills.

  • Ability to develop structured commissioning strategies and successfully deliver complex technical programmes.

Don't match every requirement? We recognise that great people bring transferable skills and experience. If you're passionate about engineering excellence and committed to learning, we'd still love to hear from you.
