Security Officer (Nights)

Laing O'Rourke, in partnership with Select Security, is recruiting a team of Security Officers to support a major long-term construction project in Margam.

This is a night shift role offering between 48 and 60 hours per week, with an average of 54 hours per week, providing excellent stability and long-term employment opportunities.

We are seeking professional and reliable security officers with experience in protecting construction sites, commercial premises, or similar environments. The successful candidates will play a vital role in maintaining site security, preventing unauthorised access, and ensuring the safety of personnel, visitors, and members of the public.

The role involves regular foot patrols across the site, carrying out security inspections, monitoring access points, and conducting health and safety checks to help maintain a safe and secure working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security patrols of the site and surrounding areas
• Monitor and control access to the premises
• Prevent unauthorised access and respond to security incidents
• Carry out routine health and safety inspections
• Maintain accurate records and incident reports
• Work closely with site management and the wider security team
• Provide a professional and visible security presence at all times

What We're Looking For

• A valid SIA licence in Security Guarding, Door Supervision, or Close Protection
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a large team and build positive working relationships
• Strong customer service skills and a professional approach
• Sound judgement, integrity, and a high level of personal responsibility
• Previous experience working within construction, industrial, or large-scale site security environments would be advantageous
