  • Provide expert advice on construction methodology and propose innovative solutions to improve buildability and quality.
  • Review and challenge design intent and interfaces, ensuring alignment with manufacturing capabilities and site constraints.
  • Apply engineering judgement to assess and ensure the safety and technical integrity of design outputs, with the authority to halt unsafe work if necessary.
  • Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize product design and performance.

Manufacturing and Quality Assurance

  • Produce and manage detailed manufacturing and construction information, including 2D and 3D models with associated metadata.
  • Support the manufacturing teams by reviewing design effectiveness and resolving manufacturing queries.
  • Manage quality control processes, documentation, and continuous improvement within the modelling team.
  • Maintain rigorous design control procedures and ensure compliance with legislative and industry standards including CDM regulations.

Commercial and Stakeholder Management

  • Report on project progress and commercial status during contract reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive experience in reinforced concrete design and detailing, ideally within precast manufacturing or DfMA environments.
  • Proven expertise in structural design software and CAD modelling (2D and 3D).
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, British standards, and construction design regulations.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with experience managing teams and mentoring junior engineers.
