Role Overview
Laing O'Rourke is seeking an experienced Regional Commissioning Lead to drive and oversee commissioning strategy, planning, and delivery across multiple projects within the region.
This leadership role ensures that all systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in line with client requirements, regulatory standards, and Laing O'Rourke's commitment to excellence. The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering complex projects from construction through to successful operational handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the regional commissioning strategy, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and best practice across all projects
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning activities from pre-construction through to handover
- Ensure all systems (mechanical, electrical, and public health) are tested, validated, and performing in line with design intent
- Develop and manage commissioning programmes, schedules, and resources across multiple projects
- Act as the primary point of contact for commissioning matters with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
- Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, industry standards, and company policies
- Lead the preparation and review of commissioning plans, method statements, and risk assessments
- Drive quality assurance and ensure complete and accurate commissioning documentation and handover records
- Support project teams in resolving complex technical issues during commissioning
- Lead lessons learned reviews and implement continuous improvement initiatives
