The Opportunity:
Crown House Technologies (CHt), the specialist MEP delivery business of Laing O'Rourke, is seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join the team delivering Hinkley Point C.
You'll support the commercial delivery of your allocated MEP packages within a £175m MEP package, working closely with project leadership, commercial and operational teams, the client and supply chain to support successful project delivery.
What will the Quantity Surveyor role look like?
- Support the commercial management of allocated MEP packages and workstreams.
- Monitor costs, forecasts, budgets, risks and opportunities.
- Assist with subcontract procurement, administration, valuations, payments, change and final accounts.
- Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts and commercial reporting.
- Identify and assess change, supporting the management of cost and contractual impacts.
- Work closely with project and operational teams to support cost control and commercial decision-making.
- Build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and key project stakeholders.
- Provide commercial support and advice to the project team.
- Support the resolution of commercial issues, claims and negotiations.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with contractual and project requirements.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Proven experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor, ideally with experience within infrastructure projects.
- Degree (or higher) qualified in Quantity Surveying.
- Knowledge and understanding of NEC contracts.
- Strong commercial and cost management experience, with an understanding of subcontract management, change and final accounts.
- Experience managing commercial activities across complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to identify and manage cost, risk and opportunity.
- Experience within a highly regulated environment such as nuclear, energy, defence or infrastructure would be desirable.
