We are looking for a CWA Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support and guidance throughout the civil works programme. This key role involves managing contractual matters, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with UK laws and regulations, particularly within the construction and energy sectors. You'll work closely with the CWA Head of Legal, internal teams, project stakeholders, and external advisors to protect the interests of the Civil Works Alliance.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in construction law, especially in high-value energy or infrastructure projects. Familiarity with NEC contracts is essential, along with a deep understanding of relevant UK regulations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a major infrastructure project and play a crucial role in the successful delivery of Sizewell C.

Job Purpose / Overview

The HR Administrative Assistant will support the Human Resources function embedded into the Enabling and Earthworks Section, on site by handling administrative tasks, coordinating workforce logistics, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with labour regulations. This role is critical in supporting smooth HR operations in a fast-paced, site-based environment.

 

Background

Be part of this ‘once in a generation' project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity.

The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke.

Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions

  • Update the resource tracker with accurate information.
  • Maintain a tracker of all applicants to the project, and ensure that candidate feedback is provided back to parent company resourcing leads in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with onboarding and vetting to ensure all new starters and line managers complete relevant documentation in a timely manner
  • Raise all SZC IT requests for new starters and issue new starter communications to the wider team
  • Support the development and delivery of HR projects and initiatives in conjunction with the wider SZC team – e.g. onboarding process
  • Undertake ad-hoc administration
  • Support the work of other Administrators during periods of absence or unexpected high volumes of work activity.
  • Maintain full confidentiality of sensitive business issues.
  • Assist in onboarding and offboarding processes for site personnel.
  • Prepare HR-related documents such as contracts, letters, and reports.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee queries and concerns.
  • Help organize employee engagement and welfare activities on-site.
