At Laing O'Rourke we're looking for a Communications Manager who has a passion for storytelling, content creation, and building meaningful relationships.

If you have experience crafting engaging written and visual content whether that's articles, videos, or social media and a knack for capturing what our people do, we want to hear from you. You'll play a key role in showcasing the incredible work happening across our projects, helping bring our brand to life.

Whether it's writing compelling stories, producing standout videos, or sparking conversations that build awareness and engagement, this role is for someone who sees communication as a powerful tool to connect, influence and inspire.

What to expect in this position:

  • Develop and deliver high quality written communications, can include blogs, internal updates, and external publications

  • Edit and support the production of short films and video content, ensuring clarity, consistency, and impact
  • Manage and maintain the social media channels, with a focus on LinkedIn
  • Produce a variety of content formats, including written articles, photography, and video assets
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify content opportunities and ensure alignment with communication objectives
  • Uphold brand voice and messaging consistency across all content and platforms
  • Contribute to content planning and editorial scheduling to support broader communications strategies
  • Travel occasionally to project sites to capture content and build relationships

Essential Skills/Qualities:

  • Excellent written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and storytelling ability
  • Proven experience in content creation across various formats (written, video, social media)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a natural people person who enjoys building relationships
  • Confident in engaging and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proactive and self motivated, with the ability to manage time and priorities independently
  • Positive attitude, resilient under pressure, and able to bring energy and enthusiasm to the team
  • Open, curious mindset with a genuine interest in learning and connecting with others
  • Willingness to travel to project sites to gather content and build relationships

The role requires frequent travel to sites and offices for gathering content, with our head office at Dartford being the main office base for advice and support.
