What is a heating and ventilation pipe fitter?

A heating and ventilation pipefitter is a highly skilled tradesperson who specialises in installing, maintaining and repairing complex pipework systems in a diverse range of buildings/projects.

A pipefitter will work across a multitude of systems adopting varying types of manufacturer ranges and materials across the installation of the building services system. A pipe fitter must also collaborate with other trades on the projects to ensure that their respective installations are installed to the clients satisfaction and comply with the relevant building regulations and specifications.

The Laing O'Rourke Trade and Technical Apprenticeship programme - what can you expect?

The Trade and Technical Apprenticeship programme provides you with a formal college education, leading to a Level 2 and/or 3 apprenticeship standards in your chosen vocation. You will also gain a broad set of trade technical skills through on-the-job training, supported by our qualified and experienced workforce, and construction professionals. A dedicated mentor and approved training provider will work closely with you, providing regular feedback on your progress towards completing your apprenticeship

What are we looking for?

We are looking for people with a genuine interest in construction and the built environment. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and ambitious, with the potential to progress to a supervisory / management role over a five-to-ten-year period.

Entry requirements

• Eligibility without restrictions to work in the UK with a valid work permit if applicable.
• Full mobility to enable travel to various project locations

• 5 GCSEs - preferably grades 7-4 in Maths and English
