We're looking for a creative, motivated, and enthusiastic Junior Graphic Designer to support our Design Lead within a fast-paced Corporate Affairs team in the construction industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is interested in Graphic Designing to build their skills, expand their portfolio, and gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of projects.
In this role, you'll help bring our stories to life, supporting the team with internal and external communications, and contributing to campaigns that engage our people, the media, and wider audiences. You'll play an active role in shaping how we connect and communicate, from managing digital channels to supporting employee engagement and media relations.

About the team:
The Corporate Affairs team is at the heart of how we tell the stories of Laing O'Rourke - from our projects and people to the innovations that set us apart. We manage the company's digital strategy and communication channels, shaping and protecting our brand and reputation. Our work spans internal communications, media relations, public affairs, and digital content, ensuring our messages reach the right audiences. As part of an international construction and engineering leader, we're a creative, fast-paced team that plays a key role in how the world sees Laing O'Rourke.
Responsibilities:
- Designing Templates & Brand Assets: Create and maintain consistent PowerPoint and Word templates, as well as Adobe InDesign templates. You'll help ensure the company's brand identity is applied consistently across all materials, both digital and print.
- Design Production: Develop and design engaging PowerPoint presentations, branded materials like posters, banners, invitations, and signage, as well as promotional items such as branded merchandise (pens, mugs, tote bags). You'll also help create digital assets for social media and internal communications like intranet content.
- Collaboration & Workflow: Work closely with the Corporate Affairs team and other stakeholders to receive briefs, present creative ideas, and refine designs based on feedback. You'll collaborate on multiple projects, ensuring designs meet requirements and deadlines.
- Asset Management: Help manage the image database, ensuring that design assets are uploaded, organised, and easily accessible. You'll also assist with sourcing images and maintaining efficient file management practices.
Key Skills:
- Skilled at managing time-critical projects and prioritising workload under pressure.
- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing project requirements.
- Basic video production and editing skills.
- Capable of translating complex information into clear, engaging visual communications.
- Proactive in implementing designs and supporting the Graphic Design Lead.
Qualifications and experience
- Relevant professional qualifications or equivalent practical experience in graphic design.
- Proven 2-3 years of professional experience in a graphic design role
- Demonstrated expertise working with corporate communications or marketing teams.
- Portfolio showcasing versatility across digital and print design projects.
- Adobe After Effects – Motion graphics and visual effects.
- Advanced template design and development based on brand guidelines.
